Australian government to provide 60 scholarships to Indian students

12/11/2014

The Australian Government grants 60 scholarships to Indian students under the Endeavor Scholarships and Fellowships Program to undertake study and research in the country. This year the number of scholarships for Indian scholars has been increased to 60 which were limited to 40 in 2014.

The application process for the 2016 Endeavor Scholarship and Fellowship is expected to begin from the month of April, 2015.

The students need to compete for these scholarships which will help them to take forward their work in Australia’s superior research infrastructure and can take professional help with top academics in their related fields. The recipients can take up research at vocational, postgraduate and post-doctoral level courses in Australia and can also join professional development programs at top Australian universities.

“The Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships facilitate knowledge sharing, strengthen mutual understanding between Indian and Australian scholars and build international networks. This serves to reinforce our strong and enduring bilateral relations with India,” said, Australian High Commissioner Patrick Suckling.

Such programmes motivate students towards career orientation and are able to purse higher education in the top colleges/universities.

As per the present situation the Indians are the second largest group of international students in Australia.
